MARINA Sets New Rules on Examination, Assessment, Licensing and Certification of Deck/Engine Officers

The Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA), through its Public Information Division, issued on 14 November 2014 six (6) STCW Circulars (as listed below) which provide the mandatory minimum requirements for examination, assessment, licensing and certification of deck and engine officers.  

 

STCW CIRCULAR:

  • 2014-08 | MANDATORY MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR EXAMINATION, ASSESSMENT, LICENSING AND CERTIFICATION OF OFFICER-IN-CHARGE OF A NAVIGATIONAL WATCH ON SHIPS OF 500 GROSS TONNAGE OR MORE
  • 2014-09 | MANDATORY MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR EXAMINATION, ASSESSMENT, LICENSING AND CERTIFICATION OF OFFICER-IN-CHARGE OF AN ENGINEERING WATCH (OIC-EW) ON SHIPS OF 750 KW PROPULSION POWER OR MORE
  • 2014-10 | MANDATORY MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR EXAMINATION, ASSESSMENT, LICENSING AND CERTIFICATION OF CHIEF MATE ON SHIPS OF 500 GROSS TONNAGE OR MORE
  • 2014-11 | MANDATORY MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR EXAMINATION, ASSESSMENT, LICENSING AND CERTIFICATION OF SECOND ENGINEER OFFICERS (2E) ON SHIPS OF 750 kW PROPULSION POWER OR MORE
  • 2014-12 | MANDATORY MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR EXAMINATION, ASSESSMENT, LICENSING AND CERTIFICATION OF MASTER ON SHIPS OF 500 GROSS TONNAGE OR MORE
  • 2014-13 | MANDATORY MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR EXAMINATION, ASSESSMENT, LICENSING AND CERTIFICATION OF CHIEF ENGINEER OFFICERS (CE) ON SHIPS OF 750 kW PROPULSION POWER OR MORE
